Yesterday, 13-year MLB veteran, Eric Hosmer, officially retired from the game of baseball. Just a few hours after his official retirement, Hosmer announced that him and former teammate Anthony Seratelli are starting MoonBall Media as well as the Diggin' Deep Podcast.
Hosmer spent 13 years in the game, spending time with the Royals, Padres, Cubs, and Red Sox. Hosmer has a career slash line of .276/.335/.427 while compiling a 18.6 WAR.
Hosmer is most known for his time in Kansas City, where he spent the first seven years of his career. Hosmer helped the Royals win their second franchise World Series in 2015. Hosmer is a one time all-star, four time Gold Glover, and a one time Silver Slugger.
At 34 years old, Hosmer is continuing his baseball career on the media side of things with his new adventure. Hosmer's impact on baseball during his time in Kansas City was unforgettable.
