Entering the off-season, there’s always players who are expected to be traded. One of those players this time was Athletics All-Star Brent Rooker. Those speculations can go away now due to the Athletics GM David Frost shutting those rumors down.
Here was David Frost’s exact quote according to Jon Heyman of the New York Post:
“We’re going to keep (Rooker)”.
There’s been rumors of Brent Rooker being traded the past few seasons. Especially at the trade deadline. Now, the Athletics will hold on to him once again. Rooker is a very good player and he’s just 30-years-old. Each year Brent Rooker has improved as a hitter.
Brent Rooker was going to be one of the most looked at players this off-season. Any team could use a player like Rooker. He would fit perfect in a lot of lineups right in the middle of the order.
Brent Rooker is a 1x All-Star, that was in 2023. He very well could’ve been an All-Star again this past season. In 145 games, Rooker slashed .293/.365/.562, 39 HR, 112 RBI, and a .927 OPS.
It’s good to see the Athletics hold on to one of their star players in Brent Rooker. They will be able to build around him and try their best to get better each and every year. Brent Rooker is looking to have another great season in 2025, and it will be on the Athletics.
