Astros Acquire Former All-Star Pitcher

The Houston Astros are acquiring left-handed pitcher Yusei Kikuchi from the Toronto Blue Jays. Per, multiple reports.

The Astros started off the year very surprisingly, not in a good way. They were in last place of the AL West for the first month or so. After their recent scorching hot streak, they will look to buy at the deadline, as we all saw with this move.

The Astros are currently tied for first place in the AL West. It’s pretty amazing how far they have come this season. They had to dig themselves out of a huge hole, and they did exactly that.

This is Yusei Kikuchi’s sixth season in the MLB. He was an All-Star in 2021. This year in 22 starts, Kikuchi has pitched 115.2 IP. He has a 4-9 record, 4.75 ERA, 130 SO, and a 1.34 WHIP.

The trade deadline is today. There will be a ton of moves today and it’ll be interesting to see who else gets moved. There will be plenty of players who are traded.
