Astros Star Hits IL Once Again

Jose Altuve via Gareth Patterson - Freelancer

Jose Altuve is once again hitting the IL. This time, he was placed on the 10-day IL with left oblique discomfort, which was retroactive to July 4. The Astros are undoubtedly taking another big hit to their roster while fighting their way back atop the AL West.

Altuve left batting practice with this injury and proceeded to miss two games. This will mark Altuve's second trip to the IL this season, however, this oblique injury seems to be a consistent concern.

Altuve admitted that the MRI showed just minor strain but will take some time to get back to normal and 100%. The eight-time all star has had a productive season as he's slashing .264/.371/.479 with 6 home runs and 18 RBI.

There's not a timetable for return for Altuve, but the Astros will undoubtedly give him the proper time to recover in order to be ready for an October push.
