The Toronto Blue Jays have placed shortstop Bo Bichette on the 10-day injured list. The reason is because of a right calf strain. Utility man Addison Barger was recalled from Triple-A to take Bichette’s spot.
Bo Bichette has had very bad luck when it comes to calf injuries this season. This is now the third time he’s injured the same calf and it seems like they always linger.
Sources have said that Bo Bichette will miss a “few weeks”. There was reports a few weeks ago that Bo Bichette could be traded from the Blue Jays. The chances of him getting traded have gone way down with this injury news.
It’s been an up and down season for both Bo Bichette and the Blue Jays. They’ve had struggles this season but also good stretches. Bichette has played in 79 games, he has slashed .223/.276/.321, with 4 HR, 30 RBI, and a .597 OPS.
The Blue Jays will have to find a way to replace their starting shortstop Bo Bichette. He hasn’t been playing to his full potential this season, but there’s no question that the Blue Jays will miss Bo Bichette’s bat in the lineup every day.
