Per Jeff Passan of ESPN, The Atlanta Braves are acquiring infielder David Fletcher and catcher Max Stassi in a trade with the Los Angeles Angels for first baseman Evan White and right-handed reliever Tyler Thomas. The Braves, yet again, make another trade, and being one of the most active teams this offseason.
The Braves received INF David Fletcher and C Max Stassi. David Fletcher is owed $15.5 million over the next two seasons and Stassi still has $7.5 million guaranteed. The Braves are getting depth in this trade with Fletcher, but Stassi could be flipped due to the Braves catching depth. Fletcher slashed .247/.302/.326 with 2 home runs and 12 RBI, in just 33 games last season. Stassi missed the entire 2023 season with a family medical issue and to recover from a hip injury.
The Angels received 1B Evan White and RHP Tyler Thomas. Evan White was acquired by the Braves from the Mariners just five days ago. Thomas pitched to a 2.86 ERA in just over 34 innings in the minors. The Angels have to be excited about Thomas with the lack of pitching the Angels have.
