Braves First Baseman Inches Closer to Franchise Record

Matt Olson has been the Braves first baseman for the last year and a half. His 2023 has been nothing short of amazing. He found himself hitting home run No. 49 and No. 50 on the year in the 7-5 loss against the Phillies yesterday.

The franchise record for most home runs in a season is held by Andruw Jones who hit 51 home runs in 2005. Olson has alittle over two weeks to set this mark, which he likely will.

Olson has been a force to be reckoned with for the Braves since joining the club. Olson is slashing .279/.386/.614 with 50 home runs and 127 RBI, almost all career best. The Braves have already clinched a playoff spot and Olson will look to secure the Braves franchise record.
