The Braves and Royals made a surprise move yesterday by sending Kyle Wright to the Kansas City Royals, in exchange for Jackson Kowar. Wright was seemingly a piece of the future for the Atlanta Braves and is now on his way to become a big part of Kansas City's future.
Wright underwent shoulder surgery and will miss the entire 2024 season. However, his talents will become a huge part of the future of the Royals. Wright pitched to a career 4.45 ERA in Atlanta, 2019 being his best with a 3.19 ERA. Wright had big promise in Atlanta, but injuries have slowed him down a bit. A fresh start in KC could be exactly what the once promising first rounder needs.
Atlanta is receiving Jackson Kowar in exchange for Wright. Kowar has pitched to a career 9.12 ERA in Kansas City. Although the former first rounder hasn't panned out, Atlanta might be the place for him to turn his career around.
