Next up for the MLB awards is Manager of the Year. The National League Manager of the Year is Pat Murphy. He is the manager for the Milwaukee Brewers. It was an unforgettable season for Murphy in which it was his first full season as a manager in the majors. It’s safe to say it was a successful one.
Pat Murphy received 27 out of 30 first place votes. San Diego Padres manager Mike Shildt finished second, he received 1 first place votes. New York Mets manager Carlos Mendoza finished third and he also received 1 first place votes. Shildt got more second place votes then Mendoza.
Pat Murphy led the Brewers to a regular season record of 93-69. The Brewers won the NL Central by 10 games. This earned the Brewers a wild card spot which they were then eliminated by the Mets. It was still a pretty cool thing for a first year manager like Pat Murphy to have such a successful season.
Now for Pat Murphy and his club it’s time to look towards 2025. They will look to have a much more successful playoff run in year two of Pat Murphy as the manager. Now, the question is can Pat Murphy win back-to-back MOTY awards.
