The Arizona Diamondbacks announced yesterday that they are calling up MLB's No. 10 prospect, Jordan Lawlar. Lawlar was the Diamondbacks 2021 first round pick. The 21-year old has been apart of AA Amarillo and AAA Reno, appearing in 105 games this season.
In those 105 games, Lawlar is slashing .278/.378/.496 with 20 home runs and 67 RBI. However, Lawlar's impressive AAA run is what got him the call. In 16 games, his slash line of .358/.438/.612 with 5 home runs and an impressive OPS of 1.050 gave him the chance he's about to get.
The Diamondbacks currently sit in second place in the NL West with a record of 72-68, 13.5 games back of the division. The real chance this young Arizona team will get is the wildcard. Currently just a half game out of the last wildcard spot, the club hopes that Jordan Lawlar could be a contender to get them over the hump.
