The Los Angeles Dodgers announced that they have acquired RHP Yohan Ramírez from the New York Mets in exchange for cash considerations. This is more of a minor trade, but it can turn into a bigger trade for the Dodgers if Ramírez can pitch some solid outings.

Yohan Ramírez has had a crazy year.

• 12/13/23 - DFA’d by White Sox

• 12/18/23 - traded to Mets

• 4/8/24 - DFA’d by Mets

• 4/11/24 - traded to Orioles

• 5/2/24 - DFA’d by Orioles

• 5/6/24 - claimed by Mets

• 5/15/24 - DFA’d by Mets

• 5/19/24 - traded to Dodgers

The Mets have used Yohan Ramírez in more lower leverage situations. In a total of 10 appearances and 14.1 IP, Ramírez has an 0-1 record, 6.91 ERA, 17 SO, and a 1.40 WHIP. Ramírez has had a lot of rough luck so far in 2024.

Yohan Ramírez will serve as a solid depth piece for the Dodgers. They are a team who are highly likely to make a deep run in October. It’s always important to have pitchers who can eat up innings. That’s exactly what Yohan Ramírez will do for the Dodgers.
