Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani is used to doing both pitching and hitting. Although, this season it’s been different. He’s been just a designated hitter. Ohtani underwent elbow surgery and has been out of pitching all season long. That could change in the playoffs as he could make a return to the mound.

Shohei Ohtani underwent Tommy-John Surgery late last season. He was still a member of the Los Angeles Angels. Ohtani signed with the Dodgers this past off-season on a massive 10-year, $700 million deal.

Many people never thought that there was a chance for Shohei Ohtani to pitch at all this year. Ohtani is starting to build the intensity of his throwing program. Over the last few days, manager Dave Roberts stated that their is definitely a chance that Shohei Ohtani does some sort of pitching in October.

There are also some people that think the Dodgers shouldn’t risk rushing Shohei Ohtani back to the mound. As a hitter this season, Ohtani is doing wonderful. He’s putting up historical numbers. Dodgers pitching has been thin which could lead to Ohtani pitching in October.
