The Los Angeles Dodgers have transferred third baseman Max Muncy to the 60-day injured list. Muncy was placed on the 10-day injured list back on May 17th. It was due to a grade 1 right oblique strain. The Dodgers thought it was best to just transfer him to the 60-day IL.

The injury was taking very long for Max Muncy to recover from it. It took him nearly a month to just start taking dry swings and he’s been limited to fielding grounders and running the bases.

When the oblique first happened to Max Muncy, the Dodgers expressed hope that he would be back shortly. That obviously hasn’t been the case. It now turned into a few months. He won’t be eligible to return from the IL until the season’s second half gets underway.

Before getting injured, he are Max Muncy’s stats in 2024:

40 games | .223/.323/.475 | 9 HR | 28 RBI | .798 OPS

Max Muncy is a great bat to have in the Dodgers lineup. They have been missing him in the middle of their order. It’s unknown when Muncy will make his return, but when it does happen, he will be a huge addition to the Dodgers lineup.
