Guardians Ace Shut Down With Forearm Injury

Yesterday, the Guardians announced that they are placing RHP Shane Bieber on the 15-day IL with forearm irritation. Bieber, who has been with the club for the last six years, is a potential trade candidate for the Guardians this season with the club sitting at 45-47.

Bieber is currently pitching to a 3.77 ERA in 117 innings pitched this season. He's compiled 95 strikeouts to go along with a 5-6 record.

As mentioned above, Bieber is potentially on the trade block this season. With his current IL stint, that could be put in jeopardy. Many teams will be calling Cleveland to see what it will take to pry their ace away from them.

Shane Bieber has had a nice career thus far and has been the corner stone to this young Guardians club. The Guardians are still in the race for the AL Central. It will be interesting to see which way Cleveland will attack the trade deadline with the race still intact.
