Yesterday, the defending World Series champions, Houston Astros got two big pieces back. They activated 2B Jose Altuve and LF Yordan Alvarez off the 10 day-IL. Jose Altuve was on the IL due to straining his left oblique. Yordan Alvarez was on the IL due to a right oblique strain.
Jose Altuve has missed many games this year. He made two IL stints this year. Although, he's finally back. In just 33 games this year for Altuve, he's slashing .258/.363/.468, with that he's hit 6 HR's, 18 RBI's, and a .831 OPS.
Yordan Alvarez has been on the IL since June 8th, and missed 39 games. Alvarez has played 58 games this year, and in those 58 games, he's slashed .279/.394/.593, with that, he's hit 17 HR's, 55 RBI's, and a .987 OPS.
Everyone knows what Jose Altuve and Yordan Alvarez brings to this Houston Astros team. They're so much better with them in their lineup. As the Astros currently sit in second place in the AL West, 2 games out of first place, and a record of 58-45, Jose Altuve and Yordan Alvarez will be a huge boost to their lineup.
