It was reported yesterday that the Seattle Mariners are showing interest in free-agent first baseman, Rhys Hoskins. Hoskins will be leaving the Philadelphia Phillies in free agency due to the fact Bryce Harper will be the Phillies first baseman.

Rhys Hoskins missed all season last year due to an ACL injury he suffered in a spring training game. Although, Hoskins has spent a lot of seasons in the MLB and he has proven himself to be a good player.

Rhys Hoskins has been in Major League Baseball since 2017. He has played for the Phillies all of his career. Rhys Hoskins has been a fan favorite in the Phillies organization since he came into the MLB.

Rhys Hoskins has had a total of 627 games and 2,427 at-bats in his six-year career. Hoskins has slashed .242/.353/.492, along with that, Hoskins has 148 HR's, 405 RBI's, and a .846 OPS. Rhys Hoskins has always been a good baseball player.

Rhys Hoskins has always been a power hitter. Here is a look at Rhys Hoskins home run total for each season since he came into the league.

2017, 50 games: 18 HR's

2018, 153 games: 34 HR's

2019: 160 games: 29 HR's

2020*, 41 games: 10 HR's

2021, 107 games: 27 HR's

2022, 156 games: 30 HR's

2023: Missed the entire season

If the Mariners can reach a deal with Rhys Hoskins, they know the type of player they're getting. A proven player, with power, and solid defense. There's going to be some more teams in on Hoskins, but the Mariners could be the team to get him.
