Marlins Have Hired a New Manager

The Miami Marlins are hiring Los Angeles Dodgers first base coach Clayton McCullough to be their next manager. McCullough is 44-years-old.

Clayton McCullough has spent the last ten seasons in the Dodgers organization. He spent the past four seasons as the Dodgers first base coach. McCullough had a great run with the Dodgers and accomplished many things, but he will now move on to a bigger role with the Marlins and be their manager.

Before Clayton McCullough was an actual coach, he served as a Minor League field coordinator for the Dodgers, working with current Marlins assistant general manager Gabe Kapler during his tenure as the director of player development.

The Marlins went into this off-season looking for a manager. They knew it after they parted ways with former manager of the year Skip Schumaker. Schumaker was the Marlins manager for just two seasons (2023 & 2024).

The Marlins are coming off of 2024 where they finished in last place in the National League East. They had a record of 62-100. The hope is for the Marlins that they can start fresh with a new manager in Clayton McCullough.
