After the San Francisco Giants missed the 2023 postseason and finished fourth in the NL West, with a 79-83 record, they fired manager Gabe Kapler. Kapler has managed both the San Francisco Giants and the Philadelphia Phillies. During his managerial career, Kapler has a record of 456-411. He will now join the Miami Marlins front office as an assistant general manager.
Kapler has made his mark during his managerial career and has been respected by both clubs he managed. Even bringing home the 2021 Manager of the Year award, after the Giants spectacular 107 win season.
There was no doubt that Kapler would latch on elsewhere after his departure from San Francisco. He's now heading to South Beach, joining an exciting young team in the Marlins. The Marlins are on the cusp of a major push in the NL East. Finishing 3rd in the NL East this past season with a record of 84-78. Kapler will now put his experience into getting this Marlins club back to the postseason.
