The Miami Marlins have placed first baseman Josh Bell on waivers. Per, Robert Murray of FanSided. This came out of nowhere. Not many people expected him to be placed on waivers, a lot of people thought he could be traded and the Marlins could get something for him in a trade.
It’s clear that the Marlins are sellers at this year’s trade deadline. They have already traded Jazz Chisholm Jr. to the Yankees. Now they are getting rid of their starting first baseman Josh Bell.
The Marlins also have some other pieces they could sell. The main one being All-Star reliever Tanner Scott. Also, they have some starting pitching that teams could look into trading for.
Josh Bell has always been a productive player in the MLB. This is his ninth year in the majors. This year with the Marlins, Bell has played in 104 games. He is slashing .239/.305/.394, with 14 HR, 49 RBI, and a .699 OPS.
Any contender would take Josh Bell on their team. It’s just a matter of time until he gets picked up. Josh Bell will give any team production no matter what.
