The New York Mets have defeated and eliminated the Milwaukee Brewers in the Wild Card round. The Mets are advancing onto the NLDS and will take on their divisional rivals the Philadelphia Phillies. After the Brewers won the NL Central, they won’t advance past the Wild Card round.

The Mets season has been a very memorable one. It’s for many different reasons. They started the season out 0-5. There was very rough times for the Mets this season, but they kept believing and they are now in the NLDS.

The series between the Mets and Brewers went to game three. It was an absolute nail biter. The Brewers hit back-to-back home runs in the seventh inning to give them a 2-0 lead. Both starting pitchers for each team did very well.

The Mets offense was quiet all game long. Until, Pete Alonso stepped up to bat in the ninth inning with two men on base. The Mets had one out. Pete Alonso launched a 3-run home run to give the Mets a 3-2 lead. Starling Marte then added on later that inning to make it 4-2. David Peterson closed it out in the bottom of the ninth inning to send the Mets to the NLDS.

It should be an amazing series between the Mets and Phillies. These are two very good teams fighting for a spot in the NLCS. Game one of the series is tomorrow at 4:08 ET.
