The Mets sent rookie INF Brett Baty to Triple-A, Syracuse Mets. The corresponding move was INF Jonathan Araúz was recalled from Triple-A. Brett Baty's rookie season has been pretty disappointing. Hopefully he'll be able to find his groove again in Triple-A.
Buck Showalter spoke to the media about sending Brett Baty to Triple-A. He said, "It's just a little timeout. Take a breath. Just let him work some things without the day-to-day.
Since July 1st, Brett Baty is hitting .149 with a .482 OPS. Overall in 86 games for Baty, he's slashing .216/.289/.331, 7 HR's, 27 RBI's, and a .620 OPS. Those numbers show it's certainly a rookie season for Brett Baty to forget.
The whole Mets have been terrible this year. They have been one of the most disappointing teams this season. It just got worse. The Mets expected Brett Baty to be a big part of their season, and now they've sent him down to Triple-A.
