Over the past off-season, the New York Mets agreed to a historic deal with superstar Juan Soto. The deal was for 15-years, $765 million. It was the biggest contract in all of sports history. Soto was apart of the New York Yankees team last year, as he jumped to a different New York team the next year and will be there for 15 years.
Opening day marked Juan Soto’s first of many games with the Mets. He had a pretty big moment in the game where he could’ve really had a great first game with the Mets. Soto came up to bat with a chance to give the Mets the lead with a home run, instead he struck out.
Fast forward to the next Mets game, which was yesterday. Juan Soto hit his first home run in the regular season as a member of the Mets. Soto will obviously look to hit many more, but he will definitely remember his first one with the Mets.
There’s no questioning the talent that Juan Soto has. He is 26-years-old and is already a World Series champion. The Mets have high hopes of making him a 2x World Series champion after this year, and there’s certainly a chance. If the Mets do win the World Series this year, Juan Soto will be a big reason why they would win the World Series.
