New York Mets starting pitcher Christian Scott will undergo a traditional Tommy John surgery early next week combined with an internal brace. Per his agent, Nate Heisler.

Here is his agent’s official announcement:

News: New York Mets RHP Christian Scott will undergo a combined traditional TJ ligament replacement along with the internal brace, what is known as a hybrid procedure, performed by Dr. Keith Meister, early next week.

We look forward to supporting him through his rehab process and seeing him back healthy on the mound in the near future!

Obviously it’s tough for such a young pitcher like Christian Scott to get this kind of surgery. It’s not expected due to his arm being so fresh. Scott is only 25-years-old and just made his major league debut earlier this season.

It was on May 4th that Christian Scott made his first ever start. He was drafted by the Mets in 2021 in the 5th round.

Christian Scott made some good first impressions when he made his first few starts. Then Scott had some unlucky starts. In total, Christian Scott has made 9 starts, he’s pitched 47.1 innings, 4.56 ERA, 39 strikeouts, and a 1.20 WHIP.

Now the journey starts for Christian Scott as he will look to make a great comeback to the mound. He has the whole off-season to take time to himself and work hard to pitch at some point next season.
