The New York Mets are promoting their No. 1 pitching prospect Christian Scott to the MLB, according to Kiley McDaniel of ESPN. Scott is the Mets No. 5 overall prospect. The expectation is that Christian Scott will make his major league debut for the Mets on Saturday against the Tampa Bay Rays. It’ll be an exciting day for Christian Scott and the Mets organization.
Mets manager Carlos Mendoza confirmed the reports of the club calling up Christian Scott. Mendoza also noted that moving forward, the Mets will utilize a six man rotation. MLB teams can never have enough pitchers because it’s such a long season and anything can happen.
Christian Scott has been in the Mets minor league system since 2021. He was drafted by the Mets in 2021. The team took Scott in the 5th round with the 142nd pick in the draft. Christian Scott is currently 24-years-old.
This whole season, Christian Scott has been with the Mets Triple-A team, the Syracuse Mets. Christian Scott has been pretty amazing this year. Through a total of 5 starts and 25.1 IP, Scott has a 3-0 record, 3.20 ERA, 36 strikeouts, and an outstanding 0.71 WHIP. Christian Scott has had a great year, and that earned himself a call-up to the bigs.
