For the first game on the NL side, it was the Mets vs. Brewers. The Mets defeated the Brewers 8-4. It took all the way till the end of the season for the Mets to clinch the playoffs, and now they are one win away from being in the NLDS.

Here are some notable performances on both sides for the Mets and Brewers:

NYM:

Mark Vientos (3B) 2-4, 2 RBI, 2 R

MIL:

Brice Turang (2B) 3-5, 2 2B, 2 R

On the other side, it was the Atlanta Braves taking on the San Diego Padres. The Padres took game one as they shutout the Braves 4-0. Michael King was the key factor in this win. The Padres are expected to make some noise in the playoffs, and it’s starting off great.

The Padres and Mets now have a chance to move on to the NLDS today. If this does happen, the Padres would take on the Dodgers, and the Mets would take on the Phillies. Both of the NLDS series begin on Saturday, October 5th.
