Free-Agent outfielder David Peralta has signed a minor-league contract with the San Diego Padres. According to Robert Murray of Fansided. Peralta spent 2023 with the Padres division rival, the Los Angeles Dodgers.

David Peralta has a ton of experience at the major league level. This is his 11th season in the majors. He is a Gold Glove award winner and a Silver Slugger award winner. Peralta has been around for a long time. That was likely a big reason the Padres signed him.

In 2023, David Peralta really showed a lot of people that he still can produce. He got a lot of playing time which definitely helped. In a total of 133 games, Peralta slashed .259/.294/.381, with 7 home runs, 55 RBI’s, and a .657 OPS. That’s a really solid season for a veteran outfielder like David Peralta.

Once David Peralta is up in the MLB with the Padres, he will likely be a fourth outfielder for them. He is also a great clubhouse guy. Any ball club can use a player like David Peralta who is always willing to put in the extra work. For now, Peralta will be in Triple-A.
