The Philadelphia Phillies and Baltimore Orioles agreed on a trade yesterday afternoon. The Phillies are acquiring right-handed outfielder Austin Hays.

For the Orioles, they will be getting pitcher Seranthony Dominguez and outfielder Cristian Pache.

The trades have officially begun. There were a few yesterday and it’s just going to keep on happening. It’s rare to see two great teams like the Phillies and the Orioles make a trade, but it does happen.

Austin Hays 2024 stats:

63 games | .255/.316/.395 | 3 HR | 14 RBI | .711 OPS

Seranthony Dominguez 2024 stats:

38 games | 3-2 record | 36.0 IP | 4.75 ERA | 40 SO | 1.22 WHIP

Cristian Pache 2024 stats:

50 games | .202/.288/.269 | 0 HR | 9 RBI | .557 OPS

The main part of this trade between the Phillies and Orioles was Austin Hays. He was an All-Star in 2023 and has always been a solid defender. Seranthony Dominguez and Cristian Pache are both decent players with good potential.

This trade kind of came out of nowhere. No one was expecting it to happen. Trades like that are really cool. Over the next few days there will be a ton more trades to go down, the deadline is on July 30th.
