The Phillies have acquired right-handed pitcher Michael Rucker from the Chicago Cubs in exchange for cash considerations. To make room for Rucker on the 40-man roster, right-handed pitcher Andrew Bellatti was designated for assignment. According to the Phillies.

Michael Rucker has pitched in the MLB for just three years. He made his debut in 2021 with the Chicago Cubs. All three years Michael Rucker has pitched with the Cubs.

Michael Rucker wasn't always the number one choice for the Cubs. Although, he gets guys out. In 2023, Rucker pitched in 35 games, he posted a 2-1 record, and a 4.91 ERA.

Michael Rucker's best year of his career came just two years ago. In 2022, Rucker appeared in 41 games, and he posted a 3.95 ERA. Michael Rucker has shown flashes of him being a pretty good relief pitcher.

The Phillies are getting a solid piece for their bullpen. All they had to give up was cash considerations. This isn't a major trade, but it could turn into a productive trade for the Phillies. Michael Rucker has always been a solid pitcher.
