Prior to the Philadelphia Phillies game yesterday against the New York Mets, the club returned INF Alec Bohm from his rehab assignment with Lehigh Valley (AAA) and reinstated him from the 10-day injured list. As the corresponding move, C Aramis Garcia was designated for assignment.

Alec Bohm has spent the last two weeks on the injured list. He’s been dealing with a hand strain. Bohm wasn’t expected to go on the injured list at all, but then it just continued to get worse so the Phillies thought it was best for him to spend some time on the injured list.

On Saturday, Alec Bohm made a rehab start in Lehigh Valley (AAA). It took just one game for Bohn to get back into shape and for him to be reinstated from the IL. He made the start yesterday for the Philadelphia Phillies and made it all the way through the game healthy, so that’s a great sign for the Phillies.

Alec Bohm is enjoying his best season in his major league career so far. He was an All-Star for the first time in his young career. In 132 games, Bohm is slashing .290/.342/.460, 13 HR, 89 RBI, and an .802 OPS.

The Phillies magic number to clinch the National League East is down to just 6 games. This is the perfect time for the Phillies to get back Alec Bohm. They will look to win the NL East as soon as possible so they can start resting players for the playoffs.
