It is, without a doubt, that Andrew McCutchen is one of the games best players over the last decade. His impact on the city of Pittsburgh has not gone unnoticed. He returned to Pittsburgh last season on a one-year deal after a five year absence. He now is back in the same jersey for yet another year.

McCutchen has had himself quite the career so far, slashing a career .276/.369/.465 with 299 home runs. His career in Pittsburgh has been nothing short of unforgettable. McCutchen is coming off a season, slashing .256/.378/.397 with 12 home runs. His on the field performance is just as valuable to the Pirates as his in house presence is. McCutchen is the leader of this young Pirates organization, that has had its fair share of growing pains.

McCutchen, 37, is obviously on the tail end of his career. Finishing his baseball career in Pittsburgh seems to be a priority for him, as it should be. McCutchen will always be remembered for his commitment to the game and his phenomenal 2013 MVP season. As fans will appreciate McCutchen a bit more in these final seasons, his career will always be an impactful one in Pittsburgh.
