
The Texas Rangers are promoting starting pitcher Kumar Rocker to the MLB. Per, Rangers writer Evan Grant. It’s been a long journey for Rocker to finally get to this point in his career, but he’s worked hard and will finally get his chance to shine at the highest level in baseball.
Kumar Rocker has been drafted twice. Once by the New York Mets in 2021. He then decided to go back to College due to injuries. Rocker was then drafted to the Texas Rangers in 2022 with the third overall pick.
As of now, it’s set for Kumar Rocker to be making his official long awaited debut this Thursday. He will start for the Rangers against the Seattle Mariners. The first pitch will be at 9:40pm ET.
Kumar Rocker has been dominant in both Double-A and Triple-A this season. He’s made a total of 10 starts in 2024. Rocker has pitched 36.2 innings, 1.96 ERA, 55 strikeouts, and a 0.79 WHIP.
It’s been nice to see Kumar Rocker pitch at such a high level this season. He’s gone through a lot with injuries. Rocker will look to make a great first impression in the majors on Thursday in his MLB debut.
