Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager will miss the remainder of the 2024 season. Seger will undergo sports hernia surgery. He will get it done today and it will officially end his season. Seager had another productive season in the major league.

This off-season will be a lot like the last off-season for Corey Seager. Unfortunately, this will be his second straight off-season where he will be recovering from a sports hernia surgery. It’s very unfortunate for Seager but it didn’t effect him at all this season until now.

Last year, Corey Seager dealt with this injury in the later part of the season. He played through the whole postseason dealing with it. Seager led the Rangers to their first ever World Series. He then had the surgery.

This season will be a little different for Corey Seager. He’s still dealing with it at the later stages of the season, but this time his season will end early. Even if the Rangers make it to the playoffs, Seager won’t be apart of it.

Corey Seager has had yet another great season. He’s solidified himself as a top shortstop over the past few years. Seager’s final stats on the 2024 season is 123 games played, a slashline of .278/.353/.512, with 30 HR, 74 RBI, and an .865 OPS.

It’s highly unlikely that the Rangers will not make the playoffs after just winning the World Series last year. It’s been an unfortunate season for the Rangers. Corey Seager will rehab again this off-season and look to have another good season next year.
