After last night's 8-3 victory over the defending World Series Champions, the Rays are the first team to reach 20 wins on the year. The Rays are a powerhouse and continue to prove why they deserve the leagues top spot.
Let's start with the offense. As a team, the Rays lead the MLB in OPS, AVG, HR, RBI, R, H, OBP, and finally, SLG. It's pretty obvious Tampa Bay has a very powerful offense.
Looking into the pitching side of things, it's just as impressive. As a team, the Rays lead the MLB in W, ERA, SHO, WHIP, and BAA. This pitching staff has been beaten up and taken big blows, but that hasn't stopped them from being the leagues best staff.
No matter if it's the offense, defense, or pitching that's talked about, the Rays just do it at an elite level. The lightning capital has a lot to be excited about. The Rays are here and have no plans on slowing down anytime soon. There's no telling what this team could accomplish this season and wow is it going to be exciting.
