This off-season, the Pittsburgh Pirates signed starting pitcher Rich Hill. Many people thought it wasn’t a big deal due to the fact that he is 43. Well, he’s been a good pitcher for the Pirates.
In Rich Hill’s latest start against the Detroit Tigers, on Wednesday, he tossed up a gem. He pitched 6 innings, 1 hit allowed, 0 earned runs, 2 walks, and 7 strikeouts. Pretty good for a 43 year old.
This season, in 9 starts, Rich Hill has a 4-3 record, 3.80 ERA, 47.1 Innings pitched, 43 strikeouts, and a 1.35 WHIP. At this age, Rich Hill has been amazing.
The Pirates don’t expect him to keep this up. Although, when they signed him, they never would have expected this. He has been more than the Pirates could’ve asked from him.
