The White Sox are coming off a season where they finished 81-81 in second in the AL Central division. 2023 was supposed to be a year for them to get healthy and have the players they brought in make an immediate impact. That just hasn't been the case.
The White Sox are in the middle of a 10 game losing streak and have a current record of 7-21. In the middle of that rough losing streak, they have played the Twins, Orioles, Phillies, Rays, Blue Jays, and they’re now on the verge of getting swept by Tampa Bay, again. The only team with a worse record then the White Sox is the Oakland Athletics.
They rank bottom of the league in a lot of hitting stats. They are 25th in runs with 106, 20th in hits with 217, 21st in HR’s with 26, 23rd in RBIs with 104, and 24th in average with a .227 BA.
The pitching side of things have not been up to par either. They’re 29th in ERA with a 5.88, 27th in saves with 3, 29th in ER with 159, 29th in HR given up with 44, and 29th in BB with 121.
It’s safe to say that a change is needed in the south side of Chicago, and it needs to happen fast. Only time will tell when the White Sox will turn things around, but as of now, they look lifeless game in and game out.
