The Arizona Diamondbacks announced yesterday, that they've placed starting pitcher Merrill Kelly on the 15-day injured list with right calf inflammation. This is obviously a huge blow to the rotation as Merrill Kelly was having a career year.
This year, Merrill Kelly has been the Diamondbacks second best starter behind Zac Gallen. Merrill Kelly's 2023 stats have been impressive. In 16 games pitched, and 95.0 innings pitched, Kelly has a 9-4 record, 3.22 ERA, 98 strikeouts, and a 1.14 WHIP.
The Diamondbacks have been firing on all cylinders thus far in the 2023 season. The Diamondbacks will only hope to get some more production from there other pieces in there rotation, as this is a big hit to there starting rotation.
