The Philadelphia Phillies announced yesterday, that they've promoted their No. 6 prospect to the MLB, Johan Rojas. Rojas was in Double-A (reading). The corresponding move was Cristian Pache landing on the 10 day-IL due to right elbow irritation.
Johan Rojas is a very talented CF. His main issue coming into 2023 season was his bat, well he's definitely fixed that this year. In 76 games this year with the Reading Fightin' Phillies (AA), Rojas is slashing, .306/.361/.484, he's hit 9 HR's, 45 RBI's, .845 OPS.
Jojan Rojas also has elite speed, he certainly shows that on the basepaths. He's stolen 30 bases this year. That speed also really helps him on the defensive side to. He's a phenomenal defender, as he as a DRS of 16. That's the most in all of minor leagues.
Today, Rojas is expected to make his MLB debut. With Bryce Harper moving to first base, that will give the Phillies to put either Rojas or Marsh in CF, and the other in LF. Johan Rojas is just 22-years-old. You should definitely be excited about Johan Rojas if you're a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies.
