Entering the 2024 season, the Texas Rangers were viewed as a powerhouse in all of MLB. There’s a reason for that. They were coming off of their first ever World Series win. They defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2023 World Series.

USA Today’s Bob Nightengale reported yesterday morning that rival GMs "expect" the Rangers to make several notable pitchers on expiring contracts available. There could also be some position players, but pitchers who’s contract is almost over is way more likely to be dealt.

The Rangers have multiple pitchers who they could trade away if they do decide to sell at the deadline. The group is led by Max Scherzer, followed by him is David Robertson, Kirby Yates, Andrew Heaney, and Michael Lorenzen. There could be a lot of interest by contending teams looking for pitching for the long haul.

The Rangers have been one of the most disappointing teams in all of baseball this season. They currently sit at 42-48. They’re 6 games behind first place in the American League West. In addition to that, the Rangers are 7.5 games out of a Wild Card spot.

It’s going to be interesting to see if they Rangers do decide to sell at the trade deadline. Also, it’ll be interesting to see who they do trade at the deadline if they decide to sell. The trade deadline is coming up soon as it is on July 30th.
