The Padres have been struggling all year long. They currently sit in 4th place in the NL West, with a disappointing 36-39 record. They're 9.5 games out of first place. Nothing has been going right for them, but Blake Snell has certainly been doing his job.
In Blake Snell's last 7 starts, he's been one of the best pitchers in all of baseball. He has a 3-1 record, a 1.80 ERA, 40 innings pitched, 15 walks, 61 strikeouts, and a 0.93 WHIP. He's had insane good numbers.
If the whole Padres team would step up like Blake Snell is, it'd be a whole different story for the Padres team. It's a true breath of fresh air for Padres fans, obviously it's not the whole team, but it's nice to have a reliable starter.
