Top Three MLB Free-Agents

The MLB Off-Season is officially underway. Players who are free-agents have the option to sign anywhere they would like. Usually it takes players to sign with a new team or re-sign with their team a few weeks/months. Especially the bigger name free-agents. Here are the top five MLB free-agents according to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com

1. Juan Soto, OF, Age: 26

This one is pretty much a no-brainer. Juan Soto is one of the best all around players in baseball. He’s proven himself to be a superstar for many years to come. He’s only 26-years-old and is already a World Series champion and is coming off another World Series appearance.

In his first and maybe only season with the Yankees, Juan Soto continued his spectacular young career. Soto started in 157 games, he slashed .288/.419/.569, 41 HR, 109 RBI, and a .988 OPS.

Potential fits: Mets, Yankees, Giants

2. Corbin Burnes, SP, Age: 30

Corbin Burnes is another player who spent just one season with their team after being traded and is possibly done after their first season. Burnes was a off-season addition for the Orioles when they acquired him in a trade with the Brewers. It was definitely worth it for the Orioles to trade for an ace like Corbin Burnes.

Corbin Burnes fit right in with the Orioles. He has one of his best seasons in his entire career. In 32 starts, Burnes pitched 194.1 IP. He posted a 15-9 record, 2.92 ERA, 181 SO, and a 1.10 WHIP.

Potential fits: Mets, Orioles, Red Sox

3. Blake Snell, LHP, Age: 32

Blake Snell signed with the Giants this off-season. It was a late addition by the Giants. It was for a multi-year deal, but with opt-outs that Snell could use. So Blake Snell decided to opt-out of his contract with the Giants and become a free-agent for the second year in a row.

To begin the season, it was a really tough start for Blake Snell. After a while, he became one of the best pitchers in all of baseball in 2024. Snell finished by making 20 starts, he pitched 104.0 IP. Snell posted a 3.12 ERA, 145 SO, and a 1.05 WHIP.

Potential fits: Giants, Padres, Rangers
