MILWAUKEE, WI: The Milwaukee Brewers announced yesterday that veteran lefty Wade Miley will require Tommy John surgery and will miss the remainder of the 2024 season, per Adam McCalvy of MLB.com. The injury will require 10-12 months for recovery.

Miley, 37, says that he feels he has more left in the tank. When returning in 2025, the veteran will be 38 and entering his 15th season in the league. Miley has played for a slew of clubs in his career including Arizona, Milwaukee, Cincinnati, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago (NL), Seattle, and Houston.

Miley’s 2024 season consisted of just 7 innings, pitching to a 0-1 record with a 6.43 ERA. Miley has always been a solid contributor on the mound to his clubs and has now been shelved for the rest of the season.

The lefty will now start the journey to what is perhaps his longest injury of his career. Miley signed a one-year deal with the Brewers that includes a mutual option. Wade Miley will likely enter the free agent pool once again.
