BRONX, NY: The New York Yankees certainly made their mark on yesterday’s win against the Brewers. The Bombers went into yesterday’s meeting with the Brewers looking for their first series win of the 2025 season. Not only did they get their first series win, they wrote themselves into the history books.
In a 20-9 victory over the Brewers, the Yankees started the bottom of the first inning by becoming the first team in Major League history to hit home runs on each of the first three pitches they saw. Those three home runs came off the bat of three former MVP’s in the form of Paul Goldschmidt, Cody Bellinger, and Aaron Judge. They finished the first inning with four home runs when Austin Wells added to the fun.
Fast forwarding to Frank Sinatra’s “Theme from New York, New York”, the Yankees finished with adding some franchise history as well. They hit a franchise record nine home runs in a game, tying them for the second most home runs in a game in MLB history.
Recapping the Yankees historic day, no one player stood out more than their captain, Aaron Judge. Judge finished the day going 4-6 with 3 home runs, 4 runs scored, and 8 RBI. The Yankees offense absolutely exploded and showed what this once questionable offense can do. The potential is there and for the first two games of the season, they look great. Could the Bombers continue over a full 162?
