TAMPA, FL: The New York Yankees are in a bit of a bind when it comes to their starting rotation. With Gerrit Cole to miss the start of the season, their pitching staff is heading into 2024 with some question marks.

However, they may have found a spot in the rotation for RHP Luis Gil. Gil missed the entire 2023 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery. Gil has been a highly touted prospect in the Yankees system, as he showed he can pitch at the major league level.

Luis Gil has had two Spring Training starts and has turned heads in the process. Gil has pitched to a 2-0 record while compiling a 2.31 ERA across 11.2 innings.

The Yankees could benefit from having a healthy and reliable starter like Gil to start in their rotation. With all the question marks, Gil could help soften the blow of all the injuries in the rotation.
